If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough.

About Paula

Originally from a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean that you have probably never heard of, I moved to Las Vegas, NV in the summer of 2009. Currently I am living in New York City and pretty much everywhere in between--seriously, I am a firm believer that "home" is a state of mind. That being said, having moved around often while growing up and experiencing living in many different big cities has influenced a great deal of who I am and what I write.

I have always loved fashion. Since the days when I would play dress up in my mom's clothes and walk around in her heels to this very moment. Fashion allows me to express myself in ways words never will and that is why it is such a big part of my life.

I am also proudly addicted to the feeling of having a suitcase in my hand and love to fill my passport with new stamps every chance I get. I genuinely believe that travel is the only thing that you can buy that makes you richer and that is a motto that I love to live by. My goal is to visit all 7 continents! Only 2 more to go.

Vogue in Vegas (an extension of my Instagram page) is my platform to share with YOU--my loves of everything from fashion, travel tips, lifestyle and beyond. This blog is dedicated not only to providing me an outlet to express my personal style and adventures, but most importantly to inspire you to express yourself and motivate you to be absolutely unapologetic in chasing your passions, no matter how unconventional they may seem.

my story

I started Vogue in Vegas in the summer of 2014 as an extension of my Instagram page (@xoxopaula). I had been posting #OOTDS for about a year by then, and my love for writing had me yearning for an outlet where I could write more than just the quick captions I posted on Instagram. Hence--Vogue in Vegas was born. I started posting my outfit photos on Instagram mostly because I wanted to keep a diary of every outfit I wore that year without repeating the same outfit twice. So that is what I did. I posted everyday purely for my own personal reasons, never really for an "audience". When I started my blog a year later, I had no idea what I was doing. It took me nearly 3 months to get my website started, but I knew I had the passion in me to learn and grow. But most importantly, accept the fact that I was a constant work in progress. I would love to say that it immediately took off from there, but it did not because that same year I started college and this blog fell lower and lower on my list of priorities. Every break, I would tell myself that this time I would go full force into my Instagram and Blog only to go back on a hiatus that lasted for months once the semester started.

This all changed after quite a transformative semester abroad, I came home and decided to stop putting my passions on hold. Since then, I chased my passion for this blog full on and spent countless hours creating content, finding inspiration, researching html code, working with different photographers and brands--the list goes on and on. Honestly, it still continues to grow longer until this day. It has been an incredible journey thus far, and I am still in utter disbelief at times when I think of all the places and opportunities this hobby turned passion has taken me to. Never in a million years did I think my high school outfit diaries would take me to living in my favorite place in the world or working with some of my favorite brands growing up that I never would have imagined working with in a million years.

My favorite part about this story, is the fact that I know it has only started and is still being written. Each new opportunity, each new adventure is just another page being added to a very exciting and thrilling story that I get to share with you. I am at my happiest when I am working on my blog and creating content for my readers, and I cannot thank you enough for following me along on this ride and continually supporting my story.
